DESCRIPTION:Please note that the event will be live on Zoom between 9h30 and 12h30. \nThe afternoon workshop will not be live streamed.\n	The event will take place on the 14th of July 2023\, starting at 09:30am\, in person at EPFL in Lausanne\, Switzerland\, held in partnership with \n\nthe Aerospace Europe Conference (AEC) and\nthe Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) Switzerland + the Diversity and Gender Equality Project Group.\n\n\n		Programme\n	\n	The entire event will begin at 9:30 in the morning\, and lunch will be provided. \nMorning session: presentation from speakers: \n\n\n\n9:30\, Anastasia Pesce – Lead Engineer Product Quality ESA: “How to Establish a Culture for women visibility in Aerospace”.\n9:55\, Chloé Carrière – Space influencer wishing to close the gap between science and society: “Taking the road less travelled”.\n10:20\, Julien Bonnaud – Industrial Relations at Space Exchange Switzerland (SXS) and Swiss Delegate at ESA (THAG)\, ex. ESA. “Opportunities for young professionals”\n\n\n\n10:45\, Morning break \n  \n11:15\, “Panel discussion”\, interaction \n  \n12:00\, Lunch  \n  \nAfternoon: Workshop (About 3h) \nIn this workshop\, we aim to explore the significance of gender-disaggregated data and its impact on decision-making\, policy formulation\, and resource allocation. We will delve into the challenges faced in collecting gender-sensitive data\, identify existing gaps\, and discuss strategies to bridge them effectively with a keen focus on empathy mapping! During the workshop\, you will have the opportunity to engage in design activities\, interactive discussions\, and share your insights and experiences. Together\, we can foster a deeper understanding of the gender data gap and work towards solutions that promote gender equality and social progress. This workshop is open to all individuals who are passionate about promoting gender equity and inclusive data practices\, your unique perspectives and contributions are invaluable.

SUMMARY:Space Gen Advisory Council - 4th Italian Space Startup Competition
DESCRIPTION:The Italian Space Startup Competition (ISSC) is a startup competition whose area of interest is space in all its facets. During the two days of the event\, participants will have the opportunity to interact with experts from the space field and to work in teams\, discussing ideas and shaping them into business cases. The participants will benefit from the support of mentors\, whose backgrounds and expertise are diverse and covering different areas of the space sector. \n \nCompetition Goals\nISSC aims at promoting the interest of the young generation in space business and bringing forth the next generation of entrepreneurs. ISSC encourages knowledge sharing and fosters innovation\, also aiming at providing participants with the necessary backdrop to network\, learn and shape the future. \nThe event is dedicated – but not limited – to new-graduates\, students and young professionals who are interested in working in the space sector and are willing to take on a challenge in a business context. The interdisciplinary of the event allows people from any background\, be it engineering\, law\, economics or else\, to participate. An ad-hoc session will allow participants to get to know each other and form diversified teams to aim to the top. \nCompetition Prizes\nThe 4th Italian Space Startup Competition will offer fantastic opportunities to increase your experience within the Space Startup sector! \nThe event format\nThe first day will be dedicated to creating teams and introducing the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and tools to shape an idea into business (e.g. pitch canvas or brainstorming). The second day will focus on the development of the business idea. At the conclusion of the ISSC\, each team presents its idea in front of a jury during a pitch competition.
