Join us on April 16 at 5pm for an online seminar on โ€œESA's Concurrent Design Facility, an essential tool for studying future space missionsโ€, presented by Justin Bourgois.

ESAโ€™s Concurrent Design Facility (CDF) has now been operating for over 25 years, contributing to many of ESAโ€™s flagship missions. This webinar aims to introduce you to the concurrent engineering approach and how it can help streamline the initial design phase of space missions. Follow the presentation, for an insiderโ€™s perspective from an ESA trainee and explore how the CDF is contributing to future missions.

Having graduated from Delft University of Technology with a MSc in Aerospace Engineering, Justin Bourgois has worked for two years as a Systems Engineering trainee at ESAโ€™s Concurrent Design Facility, contributing to the early phase design of many of ESAโ€™s future mission candidates, ranging from CubeSat missions to Medium Class Science missions and Mars Exploration missions.

What an incredible three days at the Swiss Space Sustainability Research Days 2025!

๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธ From January 6 to 8, we had the privilege of organizing an event that brought together Swiss and international experts from academia, law, military, industry, and government to dive deep into the future of sustainable space operations.

Key highlights from the event:
๐ŸŒ International collaboration was at the core โ€“ from space traffic management to sustainable satellite constellations.
๐Ÿ”‘ The launch of ESAโ€™s Zero Debris Charter, aiming for 100 signatories by 2030, marked a major step toward a cleaner orbital environment.
๐Ÿช Cutting-edge research on space debris remediation, hypervelocity impact studies, and rapid deorbiting protocols are pushing the boundaries of space sustainability.
๐Ÿ“Š Exciting new metrics for space sustainability, similar to CO2eq for climate change, will help measure and guide the future of space operations.

A huge thank you to all the participants who made this event a success! Your insights and enthusiasm are key to driving the future of space sustainability. Weโ€™re proud to have organized this impactful event and to have been part of such an inspiring dialogue. Together, weโ€™re ensuring that space remains accessible and sustainable for generations to come! โœจ
