

The Prize is awarded for a semester project or Master's thesis by an EPFL student who has demonstrated excellence and contributed to the advancement of scientific or technical research in the field of space sustainability.
The winner is selected by a selection committee composed of:
- ClearSpace SA CTO or another representing person designed by them.
- EPFL Space Center Executive Director or another representing person designed by them.
- An affiliated member of the Sustainable Space Hub (SSH), designated by the EPFL Space Center Executive Director.
The Prize is CHF 500.- (five hundred Swiss Francs). The prize is awarded Twice a year. There cannot be more than two winners the same year. The selection committee can decide that no semester or master project deserves the Prize. The decisions of the selection committee are not subject to appeal.
Procedure
The application and award procedure is as follows:
- The project supervisor evaluates the quality of the project and invites the candidate to apply for the prize.
- The candidate sends an email to espace@epfl.ch with the subject line [ClearSpace Prize Application] including:
- A description of their project
- Their grade (if already available)
- Their project report
- Their final project presentation
- The selection committee meets, evaluates the applications based on the documents provided, and selects the winner(s) of the Prize.
- The winner(s) of the Prize contact the EPFL Space Center to provide the necessary information for the payment of the Prize.
