Competition Overview

The rocket workshop and competition will teach you the basics of model rocketry and the context of a friendly design competition. You will be assigned in teams of three and will be guided through the design, fabrication and launch of a model rocket. The actual design and fabrication will be done in an EPFL classroom during five sessions, each of which will include a short course on a certain aspect of the rocket.  To win, you will need to properly design the rocket according to the competition challenge, all that in a context of limited resources.  Good luck!

Who can apply?

Any student enrolled at EPFL can apply.  Gymnasiens excited to learn about space engineering are also welcome to do so.  You don’t need any prior knowledge about space or rocketry to participate, just the will to learn and a positive attitude!  So sign up fast… only 45 students will be accepted in the competition!

How much does it cost?

The competition is supported by eSpace and is entirely free for participants.
